The gem and crystalline forms of minerals are often the highest and most pure expression of that mineral, and their beauty rivals that of plants' flowers. Unlike many of the gem elixirs you may have seen, our Oil of Amber is a true extract of the mineral- the process destroys the original gem, pulls its golden colour into the extract, and gives the finished oil a smell and taste like a very ancient forest.

Amber is a beautiful gem between the plant and mineral kingdoms, coming from a tree long ago extinct, whose resin collected and fossilized 89 million years ago. It has a warmer quality than stone-based gems, and creates electricity if rubbed with wool or silk. Since ancient times, it has been considered a magical and healing substance, believed to be the solidified blood of tigers, or bits of the Sun that broke off as it sets into the ocean.

In Chinese medicine, Amber is considered a Shen tonic, protective to the spirit of peace and calm strength that resides in the heart. Our Oil of Amber carries this quality, and forms a protective cocoon around the inner energetic core, bringing a feeling of peace and safety. It is not protective on the outside or Wei Qi level, so it will not wall you off from connecting with others, just keep your inner strength and peacefulness intact no matter what other energies come your way.
